Portada Tinto Winemaker's Selection

An approachable everyday red wine from the heart of Portugal – offering genuine drinking pleasure and no detours.

DFJ Vinhos is among Portugal's most productive and diverse wine producers. The winery works with grapes from several regions of the country, including the Tagus region, and focuses on clean, modern winemaking techniques. The Winemaker's Selection is the flagship line for an international audience – deliberately designed for fruit and balance. It's no coincidence that the Portada Tinto has received multiple Best Buy awards and made it into the Top 100 list in 2014.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red. The nose offers aromas of dark cherry, a touch of blackberry, and a subtle hint of herbs – slightly Mediterranean, without being overpowering. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, with moderate tannins and good freshness. The one-month aging in French oak barrels imparts a subtle oak note to the fruit without overpowering the wine. Medium-long, clean finish.

DFJ Vinhos

DFJ Vinhos is among the most exciting winemakers in Portugal – and for good reason. Behind the winery is José Neiva Correia , one of the country's most experienced oenologists, who works with passion and precision.

What makes DFJ so special? The wines reflect the full diversity of Portugal: from crisp Atlantic whites to deep, characterful reds from the country's best regions. The result is wines that, despite their awards – including Platinum, Gold, and Best Buy – never lose touch with everyday life. Pure drinking pleasure, not awe.
