White from Mount Etna — that is Carricante on volcanic soil, with a freshness and minerality that one does not expect from Sicily. Planeta, one of the island's most famous wineries, cultivates sites at over 870 meters on the eastern slope of Mount Etna, where cool nights and porous lava soil lay the foundation for this style.
In the glass, it opens with acacia blossom, almonds, and mountain peach. On the palate, it is juicy and dense — yellow plum, prickly pear, and a mineral-salty pull in the finish that is typical of the volcanic soils of Etna. Acidity and fruit remain in balance, and the aftertaste is long and fresh.

The Winery
In the meantime, the descendants of the Planeta family have grown up, around the fortress of Ulmo in the southwest of Sicily, where the land has been cultivated for five centuries, the spark jumped over into new ideas and projects for viticulture.
The first vineyard with vines was planted here in 1985. Since then, different generations of brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren have worked side by side.
The perfect understanding is based not only on the harmony of characters and the complementarity of skills, but above all on the unity of vision: the love for this land, the desire to protect it, and the ability to imagine a new way every day to add value to it.

- No login, no storage on our end. The history lives only in your browser. That is why only this device can see it, and if you delete your browser data, the list will also be empty.
