Königsbacher Heidböhl Spätburgunder & Weißburgunder quality sparkling wine from the Palatinate

Two Burgundy varieties, 46 months of yeast aging, no dosage: This sparkling wine from the Palatinate focuses on origin and precision. Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc bring structure and freshness together.

The grapes grow in the Königsbach site Heidböhl on stony variegated sandstone and calcareous soils. The A. Christmann winery, here together with the Sektgut Christmann & Kauffmann, harvests selectively by hand. The base wine ferments spontaneously and then matures for 46 months on the lees before being disgorged as Brut Nature without dosage. Hence the fine, persistent perlage and the elegant texture.

In the glass, you will find red berries, ripe pear, and subtle almond tones. On the palate, lively acidity meets a precise balance of fruit and structure. The finish is long and characterized by salty minerality. Dry, straightforward, with spice from the soil.

Serve it at 6–8 °C as an aperitif or with fine hors d'oeuvres. It also pairs well with seafood, fried fish, or dishes that absorb its freshness and minerality.
