Julius Treis Riesling off-dry

A Mosel Riesling with the typical balance between fruit and acidity – feinherb here does not mean sweet, but lively.

Julius Treis winery is a classic family-run estate on the Moselle, deeply rooted in the traditions of this slate region. The vineyards along the river produce Riesling grapes with that unmistakable mineral tension that gives the wines their depth.

In the glass, the Riesling displays aromas of white peach, ripe lemon, and a hint of apricot – underpinned by the slate minerality so characteristic of the Mosel. The palate initially receives a gentle residual sweetness, which is immediately balanced by the fresh, invigorating acidity. This harmony between the two makes this style so enjoyable to drink. The finish is clean, medium-long, with a slight salinity.

Julius Treis Winery

The Julius Treis winery in Reil on the Middle Moselle – that's over three centuries of winemaking history you can truly taste. The family has been cultivating Riesling here since 1684. Today, Tobias Treis, a trained oenologist, carries on the legacy – with respect for the old and curiosity for the new. His wife Andrea, a former Moselle Wine Queen, brings her own passion to the table. Together, they keep the flame burning brightly. The Riesling grapes grow on steep slopes, each vine tended by hand. This takes effort – but it is precisely this meticulous care that makes the difference. Mineral, fresh, with the subtle spice of the Moselle slate: this is what origin tastes like.
