Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon

Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon
The Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva is the heart of Jean León – the Penedès winery founded in 1963 by the Cantabrian Ceferino Carrión and now run by Mireia Torres.
The vineyard's name carries a personal story: Jean León once tried to travel from Le Havre to America as a stowaway. A sailor discovered him but remained silent – thus enabling him to begin a new life. This gratitude lives on in the name of the 12-hectare single vineyard, whose clay and limestone soils have been cultivated entirely organically since 2012.
In the glass, a dense, rich purple-red. The nose opens lavishly with ripe forest fruits, blackberry compote, cassis, and mulberry – complemented by delicate notes of vanilla, coffee, and tobacco. On the palate, full-bodied and concentrated, with fine-grained, perfectly integrated tannins and a long, spicy finish full of depth and elegance.
After 12 months in barriques and a further 24 months of bottle aging, served at 14.5% ABV at 16–18°C. A natural accompaniment to game dishes, braised beef, and aged hard cheeses – powerful, long-lasting, and unmistakably Catalan.
