Iron Maiden Darkest Red

Iron Maiden Darkest Red
A Douro red wine that embodies true craftsmanship – even if the label might suggest otherwise at first glance. Iron Maiden Darkest Red was created as a collaboration between the British metal band and the Van Zeller Wine Collection, one of the most prestigious wineries in the Douro Valley.
Van Zeller has deep roots in the Douro: The family is among the region's traditional producers, whose vineyards grow on steep schist soils under extreme temperature fluctuations. It is precisely these conditions – hot, dry summers and poor soils – that shape the style of the wines: powerful, concentrated, with a natural structure.
In the glass, it displays a dark ruby red color with a violet rim. The nose offers ripe black cherry, blackberry, and plum, with hints of cocoa and dark spices. On the palate, it features dense, ripe tannins, medium acidity, and a long, slightly spicy finish – classic characteristics of powerful Douro red wines.
- Food: Grilled lamb, beef steak, hearty stews or mature Manchego cheese
- Temperature: 17–18 °C
- Tip: The bottle with the characteristic Iron Maiden artwork makes a great gift – for wine lovers and music fans alike.
