Greco di Tufo DOCG - Vigna Serrone 2021

The Vigna Serrone shows what Greco di Tufo means at the highest level: not a crowd-pleasing everyday white wine, but a wine with backbone and character, originating from one of the best single vineyards in the municipality of Tufo.

Cantine di Marzo produces this wine from vines that have been rooted in the Vigna Serrone for around 50 years. The volcanic tuff rock that gives the DOCG zone its name shapes the minerality and the taut structure that distinguishes Greco di Tufo from other Southern Italian white wines.

In the glass, the wine glows straw-yellow. On the nose, it opens with candied pineapple, citrus zest, and a herbal accent of sage — accompanied by a hint of summer meadow. On the palate, a well-integrated, lively acidity defines the profile, carried by distinct creaminess and a drinkability that empties the bottle faster than planned. The finish remains salty and long.

On the table, it pairs well with pan-fried cod — the acidity structure cuts through the fat content of the fish. Just as convincing with Saltimbocca alla Romana or pasta with seafood. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
