Gran Cruor Priorat DO

Gran Cruor Priorat DO
The Gran Cruor Tinto from the Priorat is a powerful red wine that brings the strength of this extreme Catalan terroir directly into the glass. Slate, steep slopes, sun — the Priorat shapes wines that you taste before you even think about them.
Casa Gran del Siurana cultivates vineyards in one of Spain's most demanding appellations. The DOQ Priorat is considered one of the few Spanish designations of origin with international renown — characterized by Llicorella slate, extreme dryness, and vines that must root deep into the rock to survive. The Gran Cruor Tinto is based on Cabernet Sauvignon and matures in barriques, which gives the wine structure and depth.
In the glass, it shows dark berry fruit — blackberry, blackcurrant — with an undertone of cedar wood and dark chocolate, as is typical of barrique aging. The body is dense, the tannins firm but not coarse, the finish long and slightly spicy. A wine with backbone.
It pairs well with hearty meat: leg of lamb with rosemary, grilled Ibérico secreto, or an aged Manchego. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Best opened or decanted an hour before drinking.

Casa Gran del Siurana lies in the heart of the Catalan DOQ Priorat – one of Spain's most exciting wine regions, where barren schist soils ( Llicorella ) and Mediterranean sun produce wines of impressive depth. Here, among old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, wines are created that reflect their rugged, mineral origins unfiltered. Powerful, honest, and distinctive.
