Göttlesbrunn red Carnuntum 0.75L
A local wine with roots: The Göttlesbrunn Rot shows what the loess soils around Göttlesbrunn can bring out of Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch — dark berry fruit, firm structure, dry finish without heaviness.
Gerhard Markowitsch is one of the pioneers of Carnuntum, the small DAC region east of Vienna on the edge of the Vienna Woods. Since the 1990s, he has consistently focused the winery on quality and made the Zweigelt grape variety—complemented by Blaufränkisch—the region's flagship. The Göttlesbrunn vineyards, with their deep loess soils, provide the foundation for this: good water retention and even ripening.
In the glass, the wine displays aromas of blackberry and black cherry, along with a light peppery note typical of Blaufränkisch. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins and fresh acidity—everything is perfectly balanced, without any one element dominating. The finish is clean and lingering.
Ready to drink now, but will keep easily until 2027. Serving temperature 16–17 °C. Pairs well with roast beef with onions, grilled lamb chops, or a hearty lentil stew with bacon.
