Generations of Neipperg Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
The Generations von Neipperg is the entry point into the world of one of the most famous wineries in Saint-Émilion — accessible, yet with real depth.
The Comtes von Neipperg have been cultivating vineyards on the Right Bank of Bordeaux for centuries. Today, Stephan von Neipperg manages the family estate, which, in addition to the famous Château Canon-la-Gaffelière, includes several other estates in Saint-Émilion. Cultivation and cellar practices follow ecological principles — the soils are worked without synthetic pesticides, allowing the terroir to speak for itself.
In the glass, the wine displays the classic profile of a Merlot-driven Saint-Émilion: dark blackberry and plum, underscored by cocoa and a hint of cinnamon bark. The tannins are soft, the body is medium-full, and the finish is pleasantly long with a light spice.
- Food: Entrecôte, lamb loin with rosemary, aubergine gratin
- Temperature: 16–18 °C

Château Canon La Gaffelière – Saint-Émilion with character. Nestled at the foot of the hillside south of the old town, on clay-limestone and clay-sand soils with high heat retention. Here, an unusual balance thrives: Merlot meets Cabernet Sauvignon, which ripens exceptionally well in the warm soils. This gives the wines power, aromatic complexity – and natural elegance. In the cellar: slow vinification, no excessive temperatures. Each batch of wine is individually aged on its fine lees, with minimal intervention. Entirely in keeping with the typicity of the vintage. Canon La Gaffelière – wine with finesse.
