Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2023

The Fiano di Avellino from Cantine di Marzo shows why this old Southern Italian grape variety finds its most expressive wines in the high altitudes of Irpinia: dense, spicy, and yet surprisingly fresh.

Cantine di Marzo is one of the traditional houses of Campania and grows Fiano in the cool mountain locations around Avellino — at an altitude of over 400 meters, where the temperature fluctuations between day and night sharpen the aromatics and keep the acidity lively. The DOCG area Fiano di Avellino is considered one of the most renowned white wine regions in Southern Italy.

Straw yellow with light gold reflections in the glass. On the nose, hay flowers, Williams pear, and a hint of passion fruit, underlaid by a fine spicy note that is typical for Fiano. On the palate, dense and full-bodied with pleasantly integrated acidity, plenty of melt on the tongue, and a long, slightly nutty finish.

Served chilled at 10–12 °C, it pairs well with roast chicken with rosemary, grilled sea bass, or mild curries with coconut milk. Also a harmonious choice for pasta with seafood.
