Felsina Maestro Raro

Felsina Maestro Raro
A Sangiovese from the heart of Chianti Classico – dense, spicy, with the characteristic acid structure that makes this site so unmistakable.
Fèlsina is located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, at the southernmost tip of Chianti Classico. The winery has been considered one of the most reliable addresses in Tuscany for decades – known for wines that combine power and finesse without tipping into heaviness. The Maestro Raro is an expression of this philosophy: varietal, artisanally vinified, with aging in wooden barrels.
In the glass, it shows dark blackberry and sour cherry, underpinned by tobacco, dry leather, and a hint of black tea. The body is medium-weight to powerful, the tannins firm but not coarse – typical for Sangiovese from good sites. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with an invigorating acidity that keeps the wine interesting at the table.
- Food: Bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar salami, ripe Pecorino Toscano, or pasta with ragù
- Temperature: 16–18 °C, feel free to open an hour beforehand
