Felsina Fontalloro

Fontalloro is Fèlsina's answer to the question of what Sangiovese can do without Cabernet: a single-varietal Tuscan wine with depth, structure and long aging potential.

The Fèlsina winery is located in the southernmost part of the Chianti Classico region, near Castelnuovo Berardenga. Since the 1980s, Fontalloro has been considered the estate's flagship wine – a Toscana IGT , because at the time it broke the strict Classico regulations. The grapes come from the Rancia vineyard, with its rich galestro and alberese soils, which give the Sangiovese grapes a pronounced acidity and firm tannin structure. It is aged in barriques, a classic method for this style of Annata.

In the glass, it displays dark cherry, pomegranate, and violet, along with notes of tobacco, cedar, and a hint of iron minerality. The tannins are present but well-integrated – not a harsh wine, but one with backbone. The finish is long, slightly salty, with lingering spice.
