De Gras Cabernet Sauvignon

An approachable Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile that focuses on fruitiness — without seeming clumsy.

MontGras is one of the established wineries in Chile's Maipo and Colchagua valleys. The De Gras line is the entry point to their portfolio: uncomplicated, cleanly vinified, and designed for broad drinking pleasure. The majority of the wine matures in stainless steel to preserve the primary fruit. Around 15% spends twelve months in small French and American oak barrels—this adds structure without overpowering the fresh character.

In the glass, ripe plum and blackcurrant are revealed, along with a hint of vanilla and light toasty aromas from oak contact. The tannins are soft and rounded, the acidity moderate — a wine that requires no patience.

Drinking recommendation: Drink now, until 2026. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled beef, herb-crusted lamb chops, or hearty pasta with tomato sauce.
