Cognac Chabasse VS de Luxe 0.7L

The Chabasse VS de Luxe is a VS-level cognac: uncomplicated, fruity-spicy, and in shining gold to amber in the glass. Soft in appearance, but with bite.

It comes from the Charente in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France, the only region of origin where cognac is allowed to be produced. The house of Cognac Chabasse bottles it as VS de Luxe, in the youngest quality level of the cognac classification (VS stands for "Very Special").

On the nose, vanilla, nuts, and spices combine with fine floral aromas, as are typical for cognac. On the palate, it appears soft and harmonious, behind which power and liveliness remain perceptible.

Recommendation: neat in a tulip glass at room temperature, on ice, or as a base for a Sidecar. With ginger ale and a lemon zest, it becomes a simple long drink.

The Distillery

Cognac Chabasse

Since 1818, the Chabasse family in Saint-Jean-d’Angély, France, has been dedicated to the art of cognac. Here, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the house combines historical craft tradition with a fine sense for distillates that will stay in your memory.

The foundation for this style is formed by 60 hectares of their own vineyards, which stretch as a contiguous estate across the renowned Fins Bois and Borderies sites. You can taste this origin in every bottle: while distillates from the Borderies often provide floral nuances and soft textures, the terroir of the Fins Bois brings an expressive, round fruitiness to the glass. The result is detailed, barrel-aged cognacs that you can pour neat in a nosing glass just as well as use as a base for a classic cocktail.
