Cognac Chabasse XO 18-20 years in gift box 0.7L

The Chabasse XO is an aged cognac from the heart of Nouvelle-Aquitaine—full-bodied, complex, and with a depth one would expect from 18 to 20 years of barrel aging.

The house of Chabasse is one of the independent cognac houses in the region that relies on slow aging and artisanal care. The XO represents the top level of this work: eaux-de-vie that have spent at least a decade and a half in the barrel before being assembled into the finished blend.

In the glass, it shows dark amber with a red-gold shimmer. The bouquet is warm and spicy, with notes of preserved fruits and a hint reminiscent of old port wine—plus fine floral touches. On the palate, this complexity continues: round fullness, the spice of oak, and surprisingly fresh notes of white flowers that give the finish length and liveliness.

Neat at room temperature or slightly warmed in a snifter—as a quiet conclusion to a dinner or with dark chocolate and aged hard cheese.

The Distillery

Cognac Chabasse

Since 1818, the Chabasse family in Saint-Jean-d’Angély, France, has been dedicated to the art of cognac. Here, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the house combines historical craft tradition with a fine sense for distillates that will stay in your memory.

The foundation for this style is formed by 60 hectares of their own vineyards, which stretch as a contiguous estate across the renowned Fins Bois and Borderies sites. You can taste this origin in every bottle: while distillates from the Borderies often provide floral nuances and soft textures, the terroir of the Fins Bois brings an expressive, round fruitiness to the glass. The result is detailed, barrel-aged cognacs that you can pour neat in a nosing glass just as well as use as a base for a classic cocktail.
