Cloudy Bay Chardonnay

Cloudy Bay Chardonnay
Chardonnay from Marlborough – at Cloudy Bay, this is not just a light berry mix, but a wine with real weight: ripe fruit, oak aging and a clear freshness that holds the wine together.
Cloudy Bay is one of the wineries that put Marlborough on the world map. Since the 1980s, they have been cultivating grapes on the Wairau Plain – an area with long sunny days, cool nights, and well-drained gravelly soil. It is precisely this temperature difference between day and night that preserves the acidity in the Chardonnay, even when the grapes are fully ripe.
The glass reveals aromas of white peach and apricot, underpinned by citrus zest and a hint of fresh hay. Oak aging introduces gentle toasty notes and a touch of vanilla without overpowering the fruit. The palate is full-bodied, with yellow stone fruit taking center stage and a lively acidity that keeps the finish crisp.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C
Pairs well with: Roast veal rump, chicken with lemon thyme, scallops with butter sauce or a mature Brie.
