Chianti Classico DOCG

From the heart of Tuscany, between Radda and Gaiole, this Sangiovese grows on the characteristic Galestro soils that give Chianti Classico its unmistakable minerality. Castello di Radda is located in the central part of the Classico zone — that historic core zone which has been recognized as an independent origin since the 18th century and is now represented by the black rooster on the seal.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose brings sour cherry, dried herbs, and a hint of leather — typical for Sangiovese from the hilly zone around Radda. On the palate, the wine carries the lively acidity characteristic of the vintage, accompanied by medium, grippy tannins. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with an aftertaste of dark chocolate and rosemary.

Chianti Classico needs a partner on the plate: Bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar salami, aged Pecorino, or a hearty tomato sauce with pappardelle. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C — it is best to decant an hour before pouring so that the fruit can fully unfold.
