The Blanc from Château Pape Clément is one of the great white Bordeaux wines — a dry white wine from Pessac-Léognan that emphatically shows why this appellation is taken just as seriously for its white wines as for its reds.

Château Pape Clément looks back on one of the longest viticultural histories in Bordeaux: the estate dates back to Bertrand de Goth, who was elected Pope as Clement V in 1305 — hence the name. Today, the estate belongs to the Furt-Bernard family and is one of the renowned Classified Growths of Pessac-Léognan. White wine production is small in quantity but enjoys an excellent reputation among connoisseurs.

In the glass, the Blanc shows aromas of white peach, grapefruit, and beeswax, underpinned by a fine mineral note typical of the appellation's gravel and sand soils. The palate is dense and full-bodied with lively acidity that gives the wine tension. The finish is long, spicy, and characterized by a slight smokiness.

It is best served at 12–14 °C — with grilled lobster, scallops with butter sauce, a goat cheese tart, or poultry in cream sauce. It also makes a strong impression as a standalone wine for an aperitif.
