Chateau Montner Côtes du Roussillon Villages Rouge AOP

The vineyards for this wine are located in the Agly Valley, near Latour-de-France. The vines are planted on hills with schist soils, facing east-west. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested from the best sites. The Carignan grapes undergo a maceration period of approximately three weeks. The Grenache and Syrah grapes are destemmed, crushed, and macerated, then traditionally fermented for more than four weeks. The blend then matures in barrels for several months before bottling. The color is a striking deep garnet red with violet reflections. On the nose, red fruit aromas dominate, with hints of licorice and pepper. On the palate, it is rounded and fruity, later revealing supple, silky tannins. Ready to drink now, but can also age in the cellar for three to four years.
