Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste Château Grand Puy Lacoste 12er HK

The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 12-bottle wooden case (HK) is a classic Pauillac Grand Cru Classé in an elegant 12-bottle case – a Bordeaux with structure, style, and the typical "Médoc character" without being heavy. The 12-bottle case emphasizes its status as a serious cellar candidate that will gain even more finesse and depth over time.

In the glass, it displays a deep, dark ruby red with a lightening rim, depending on the vintage. The nose is clear and concentrated: cassis, blackcurrant, a slight pebble-like note, along with cedar, tobacco, a touch of chocolate, and fine, floral-earthy accents derived from the gravelly Pauillac vineyards. The oak aging is present but remains elegant, acting more as an enhancer than a disguise.

On the palate, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is smooth yet structured – fine but defined tannins, lively acidity, good concentration, and a long, slightly mineral finish. At around 13–13.5% ABV, it pairs ideally with grilled beef, lamb, game, or a fine, aged cheese, and is a Bordeaux that truly embodies its 5th Grand Cru Classé status – without ostentation, but with style and substance.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the oldest and most enduring estates in the Médoc – a classic that truly deserves the title.

Nestled within the renowned Pauillac appellation, these wines bear a distinctive signature year after year: deep color, a delicate aromatic profile of ripe fruit, cassis, spices, and, with age, subtle notes of tobacco and cedar. The tannins are powerful – yet always silky.

François-Xavier Borie embodies a philosophy that harmonizes nature and skill. Patience is not just an empty word: eight to ten years of aging are what truly bring Grand-Puy-Lacoste to its full potential. A wine for those who understand that waiting is part of the enjoyment.
