Château Beausejour Duffau Lagarrosse

The Beauséjour Duffau Lagarrosse 2017 shows what Saint-Émilion on limestone with asteria can achieve: a dense, multi-layered red wine with real aging potential.

Winery & Origin: Château Beauséjour Duffau Lagarrosse is located in the heart of Saint-Émilion on one of the best limestone plateaus of the appellation. The soils of asteria limestone characterize the wine with a fine minerality that distinguishes it from many neighbors. The cuvée relies on 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc — a classic ratio for the Right Bank.

Sensory profile: In the nose, crème de cassis, black raspberry, and dark chocolate, underpinned by fresh herbs and a mineral pull. On the palate, medium to full body, velvety tannins due to 16–18 months of aging in new French oak barrels, long spicy finish with a light wood note.

Tasting & Serving: Serving temperature 16–18 °C, ideally decanted for an hour. Pairs well with braised rack of lamb, entrecôte with herb butter, or mature Comté.
