Calvados Dauphin Hors d'Age

Très Vieille Fine Calvados Pays d’Auge.

The very old Calvados Dauphin Hors d'Age is a top-class product and is among the best that can be made from apples.

Calvados Dauphin comes from the Pays d’Auge, a paradisiacal region in the heart of Normandy. That is where the apples grow from which the finest Calvados can be distilled. Nature wills it so, and French law states it: only Calvados from this narrowly defined region may, like Calvados Dauphin, bear the coveted designation “Calvados Pays d’Auge Contrôlée”. A Calvados Pays d’Auge is, just like Cognac, distilled twice in small copper stills. Subsequently, the distillate matures at a constant cellar temperature of 12 to 14°C in oak barrels. For the connoisseur, Calvados from the Pays d’Auge must smell and taste of fresh, fruity apples. Calvados Dauphin possesses this wonderfully pronounced apple bouquet and the fresh, fruity-tart taste that delights Calvados connoisseurs in Germany as well as in France.

The Distillery

Calvados Dauphin

Calvados Dauphin stands for the great tradition of Calvados distillation in Normandy – a region where apples are not just fruit, but cultural heritage.

With a lot of patience and artisanal flair, brandies are created here that bring the soul of the Norman orchards into the glass: fruity and fresh in their youth, complex and velvety after years in oak barrels. Whether as a first entry into the world of Calvados or as a matured drop for special moments – at Dauphin, you will find both.
