Brauneberg Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling GG

The Juffer-Sonnenuhr vineyard in Brauneberg is considered one of the best Riesling sites on the Moselle – steep, rich in slate, with maximum southern exposure. Fritz Haag, whose roots have been in Brauneberg for generations, is one of the most reliable interpreters of this site.

In the glass, this Riesling reveals itself as a wine of precision: lemon zest, white peach, and a distinct hint of slate. The body remains lean and athletic, the acidity firm and clearly defined – not an ounce too much, not an ounce too little. On the palate, a dense minerality develops, carrying through to the long, salty-citrus finish.

A wine for patience: Drinkable now, but with aging potential until 2032+. Pairs well with pike-perch on leek beurre blanc , grilled sea bass with caper butter, or a mature Comté cheese. Serving temperature 10–12 °C.
