Borgogno Barolo Riserva

Borgogno is one of the oldest wineries in Piedmont — founded in 1761, and since 2008 in the hands of the Farinetti family, who consistently continue the traditional style. The grapes for this Riserva come from the Cannubi, Liste, Rué, and San Pietro sites, all recognized crus in the municipality of Barolo. Vinified classically: long maceration, aging in large Slavonian oak barrels.

In the glass, it shows a dense garnet red with an orange rim. On the nose, tar, dried rose petals, tobacco, and licorice — the typical aroma spectrum of an aged Nebbiolo. On the palate, powerful but already integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, spicy finish with leather notes.

Barolo Riserva needs air: decanting for at least two hours is recommended, serving temperature 17–18 °C. At the table, it pairs with braised beef, wild boar ragù on Tajarin, or mature Parmigiano Reggiano — dishes that can stand up to the wine.
