Ribas Blanc
Ribas Blanc is the fresh calling card of Bodegas Ribas – Mallorca's oldest winery, founded in 1859 by Juan Ribas Velles, which has since focused on the indigenous Prensal Blanc grape variety. The name says it all: simple, honest, and unmistakably Mediterranean – an everyday white wine that nevertheless packs a punch in the details.
Depending on the vintage, it's approximately 90% Prensal Blanc with a small percentage of Giró Ros or sometimes Viognier. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel – followed by aging on the fine lees for added depth and richness. Only manual intervention is required.
In the glass, a pale golden yellow with green reflections. The nose opens with citrus, pear, quince, and a hint of apricot, complemented by a touch of fennel, grass, and fresh herbs. On the palate, fresh and lively, with juicy acidity, a delicate, slightly oily texture, and an elegant, subtly tart-mineral note.
Served at 8–10 °C with 12.0–12.5% ABV, with a shelf life until approximately the end of 2026. Ideal with marinated fish, paella, rice dishes and light aperitif snacks – a wine that can capture the island better in a glass than many a panoramic photo.
