Ayl KUPP "Unterstenberg" Riesling "Barrel 12"
On the southern slopes of Ayler Kupp mountain, the summit rises 170 meters above the plain. The lower part of the slope benefits from centuries of weathering of the slate soil above. Here, rain deposits the finest, most open fraction of the stone, providing the vines with a source of minerals. The wines thrive on old vines and are therefore dense, balanced, age-worthy, and always slightly saline on the palate. The spontaneously fermented whole grapes are gently pressed with a short maceration period and aged in wooden barrels, where the must spend four months on the lees. The result is a wine that reflects the authentic terroir. It delights with its juicy richness and highly intriguing smoky notes.
