Aldobrandesca A' Rosato Toscana IGT
Aldobrandesca “A” Rosato Toscana IGT is an elegant rosé from the southern Maremma region of Tuscany, produced by Fattoria Aldobrandesca, an estate of the Marchesi Antinori. The wine relies entirely on the exciting, aromatic Aleatico grape variety, which grows on volcanic soils of the so-called “Etruscan tuff” and gives the rosé a special depth, aromatic complexity, and a fine mineral note.
In the glass, the "A" Rosato shines a bright, salmon-pink hue with delicate reflections. The nose is fresh, fragrant, and very floral, with aromas of watermelon, red berries, cherry, strawberry, and fresh herbs, complemented by a subtle floral note and a hint of grapefruit. On the palate, the wine is juicy, lively, and elegant, with a clear yet gentle acidity that ensures freshness and easy drinkability. The structure is light but not shallow, with a fine, slightly saline touch typical of the Maremma's proximity to the sea.
The “A” Rosato Toscana IGT is an excellent summer or patio wine, perfect with fish, seafood, sushi, light salads, or Mediterranean appetizers with olive oil and herbs. Served at around 8–10 °C , it best showcases its balance of fruit, freshness, and finesse, and is also suitable as an aperitif with fresh cheese or antipasti platters.
In the heart of the Etruscan Maremma – where millennia-old tuff cities like Sovana perch atop volcanic rocks – lies Fattoria Aldobrandesca. The Antinori family winery bears the name of the powerful Aldobrandeschi family, who shaped this region in the Middle Ages. History that you can literally taste here.
On 250 hectares of mineral-rich, volcanic soils grows what makes this landscape so special: the rare Aleatico grape, one of Italy's oldest – and, surprisingly, Malbec , which has found perhaps its most fascinating European terroir here. Two worlds, one exceptional address.
