Aconcagua Costa Pinot Noir Aconcagua Costa 0.75L
Aconcagua Costa Pinot Noir Aconcagua Costa 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Chile sounds unusual — until you understand what the Aconcagua Costa achieves. Errazuriz has specifically developed this coastal zone west of Santiago for cool grape varieties: the Pacific pushes sea air into the valley daily, temperatures remain low, the ripening period long.
Viña Errazuriz is one of Chile's defining houses, in family hands since 1870 and a pioneer for decades in the development of new terroirs. The Aconcagua Costa is a result of this search for sites that have more in common with Burgundy than with the Chilean idea of red wine.
In the glass, the Pinot Noir shows a clear ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, raspberry, sour cherry, and a hint of violet — cool and precise, without jamminess or heaviness. On the palate, silky texture, lively acidity, fine tannins, and a finish with a slight mineral note that reminds one of the proximity to the sea.
Best served at 14–16 °C. Goes well with duck breast with cherry sauce, fried mushrooms with polenta, or an aged goat cheese.
