1924 Double Gold Buttery Chardonnay

1924 Double Gold Buttery Chardonnay
A Chardonnay that makes no compromises on style: full-bodied, buttery, with the characteristic warmth of California.
Delicato Family Wines is one of the large family wineries in California – founded in 1924 in the Central Valley vineyards, today with grapes from various top appellations of the state. The name Double Gold refers to multi-award-winning quality; the vintage label commemorates the founding generation.
In the glass, the Chardonnay shows ripe yellow pear, white peach, and a clear vanilla note from the barrique aging. The titular butter note comes from malolactic fermentation – the malic acid is completely converted into lactic acid, which gives the wine its creamy, round texture. Medium to full body, little acid edge, long finish with a hint of roasted hazelnut.
Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C. Best to drink now.
Goes well with fried chicken with cream sauce, corn cream soup, pasta with Gorgonzola, or spicy cheddar. Also an uncomplicated companion as an evening wine without food.

Delicato Family Wines – behind this name lies a story that began 100 years ago in California. What an immigrant family started with the dream of good wines and their own land is today one of the most renowned family wineries in the USA.
Rooted in the fertile soils of Central California, Delicato builds on decades of knowledge and a genuine sense of family. The wines reflect this: approachable, honest, and with the typical charm of the California sun – whether juicy reds, fresh whites, or expressive rosés.
For you, this means: wine that simply brings joy – without major hurdles.
