1924 Double Gold Buttery Chardonnay

Delicato Family Wines is one of California's great family wineries – founded in 1924 in the Central Valley vineyards, today cultivating grapes from various top appellations in the state. The name Double Gold signifies multiple award-winning quality; the vintage label commemorates the founding generation.

In the glass, the Chardonnay displays ripe yellow pear, white peach, and a distinct vanilla note from the barrel aging. The characteristic buttery note comes from malolactic fermentation – the malic acid is completely converted into lactic acid, giving the wine its creamy, rounded texture. Medium to full-bodied, with low acidity and a long finish with a hint of roasted hazelnut.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C . Best consumed now; drinking window until approximately 2027.
Pairs well with roast chicken in cream sauce, cream of corn soup, pasta with Gorgonzola or tangy Cheddar. Also an uncomplicated companion as an evening wine on its own.
