The Kirchner winery is located in the picturesque and traditional winegrowing village of Freinsheim in the Palatinate region of Germany. The winery has been family-owned since 1790 and is passed down from generation to generation. This long tradition is reflected in the care and dedication with which the Kirchner family produces their wines. Quality and sustainability are paramount. The winery's vineyards are cultivated using organic methods, characterized by environmentally friendly management, reduced yields per hectare, and intensive manual labor. The goal is to harvest healthy, high-quality grapes that form the basis for excellent wines. The Kirchner winery's portfolio is diverse, encompassing estate wines, village wines, and single-vineyard wines. This classification is indicated by different colors on the labels. Particular emphasis is placed on the region's traditional grape varieties, such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, and St. Laurent. These grape varieties are cultivated on a total vineyard area of 17 hectares, with 60% dedicated to white wine grapes and 40% to red wine grapes. The wines of the Kirchner winery reflect the Palatinate terroir and the passionate work of the Kirchner family.

About Kirchner

Weingut Kirchner in Freinsheim/Pfalz – Familienweingut seit 1790 mit ökologischem Anbau auf 17 Hektar.

Weingut Kirchner –
Palatinate terroir since 1790

Weingut Kirchner is located in Freinsheim, one of the oldest wine-growing communities in the Palatinate. The estate has been family-owned since 1790 – over eight generations, without interruption. This continuity is no coincidence: it is reflected in the way work is done here. Yield reduction, intensive manual harvesting, and organic farming are not marketing promises, but lived practice on 17 hectares of vineyards.

The range follows a clear structure: estate wines, village wines, and site wines, color-coded on the labels. The focus is on the classic Palatinate grape varieties – Riesling, Pinot varieties, and St. Laurent. 60 percent of the area is dedicated to white wine varieties, 40 percent to red. The wines show what the Palatinate can do when soil, climate, and craftsmanship come together: depth without heaviness, fruit with structure.

Anyone who knows the Kirchner wines appreciates their down-to-earth nature – in the best sense. No sensationalism, no trend-surfing. Instead, wines that clearly name their origin in Freinsheim and bring it into the glass.
