For seven generations, the Hennessy family has worked with the Fillioux family as their cellar masters. This long-term approach has allowed them to build up, over the centuries, the world's most unique reserves of eaux-de-vie and an immeasurable wealth of experience. And only with this can they create the exceptional cognacs for which Hennessy is known.

Hennessy is one of the few houses that can trace its history back to 1765 without interruption. Founded by Richard Hennessy, an Irish officer in French service, the house in Cognac on the Charente River has developed into one of the world's most famous cognac producers – without abandoning its family continuity.

What sets this house apart from many others is the exceptionally long collaboration with the Fillioux family as cellar masters – responsible for the blending for seven generations. This consistency allows eaux-de-vie to be stored for decades and used selectively: some distillates mature for 30, 40 or more years in Limousin oak barrels before being blended into a cuvée.

The result is cognacs with recognizable depth – from floral, light notes in the VS to dried fruits, sandalwood and old leather in the XO. Neat, on ice or as the base of a classic Sidecar – Hennessy works in all three contexts.
