Graham Beck Winery

Graham Beck – South African sparkling wine artistry from Robertson. As early as the 1970s, the region was prized for its unique terroir – similar to Champagne. Nutrient-rich limestone soils and an exceptional climate: ideal conditions for first-class sparkling wine. In 1983, founder Graham Beck purchased the Madeba estate near Robertson. Cellar master Pieter “Bubbles” Ferreira joined him in 1990. Already impressed by the quality of the base wines, the team worked diligently to create wines in the Cap Classique style. The result: sparkling wines with character, celebrated worldwide.

Graham Beck –
Sparkling wine artistry from the chalky soils of Robertson

Graham Beck is one of the most renowned names in South African sparkling wine. Founded on the Madeba estate near Robertson , which Graham Beck acquired in 1983, the winery has always been driven by a clear vision: sparkling wine made using the traditional method, reflecting a terroir that in some ways resembles that of Champagne. Nutrient-rich limestone soils, cool nights, and a balanced climate create base wines with natural acidity and depth.

In 1990, cellar master Pieter “Bubbles” Ferreira joined the team – and with him came the crucial impetus to consistently translate the quality of the base wines into the Cap Classique style. Cap Classique means bottle fermentation according to the Méthode Traditionnelle, the same technique used in Champagne: secondary fermentation in the bottle, lees aging, riddling, and disgorging. What distinguishes Robertson from Champagne is the southern light, the intensity of the fruit, and a unique character that is evident in every glass.

Graham Beck's wines stand for precision without stiffness: fresh citrus notes, fine bubbles, and a substantial finish. Whether paired with seafood, a light risotto, or enjoyed on its own as an aperitif, these sparkling wines from Robertson clearly express their origin in every sip.
