Friedrich Becker is one of the quiet giants of the German wine scene – and has been for seven generations. The winery in the Palatinate, located directly on the French border, is entirely dedicated to Burgundy varieties : Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and their relatives are clearly at home here.
On 29 hectares, the Becker family doesn't follow trends, but rather works according to their convictions – with a consistency that can be tasted in the glass. Since 2000, the winery has been a member of the VDP , the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates. A seal of quality that speaks for itself.

Friedrich Becker is one of those wineries that people know without them having to talk loudly about it. For seven generations, the family has been cultivating in the southernmost tip of the Palatinate – directly on the border with France, where the climate is milder than elsewhere in Germany and the soils are closer to Burgundy than to the Rhine Valley.
On 29 hectares, the winery concentrates on what thrives best here: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and their relatives. No fashion trends, no excursions into other assortments. This consistency is not a dogma, but the result of decades of observation – and it shows in the glass. Since the year 2000, the winery has been a member of the VDP, the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates, which places strict requirements on origin and quality.
The wines of Friedrich Becker are not loud wines. They need a little time in the glass to open up – but then they show a precision and depth that is rarely found in this form. Anyone who takes Pinot Noir from Germany seriously cannot bypass this winery.
