Since 2008, Fabienne and Benoit Godon have been running the winery with a lot of heart and soul.

Limestone Chardonnay from the Mâconnais
An unusual origin: About thirty years ago, the mayor of Azé had vineyards planted on the roof of a prehistoric cave. From this bold idea, the Domaine de la Garenne was born — today one of the most characterful wineries in southern Burgundy. Since 2008, Fabienne and Benoit Godon have been running the estate with a clear focus on a single grape variety: Chardonnay.
The sites in Mâcon Bussières, Mâcon Azé and Pouilly-Fuissé lie on limestone soils that give the wine a precise minerality and a cool fruit that you don't find everywhere in the Mâconnais. The wines are vinified lean, without heaviness — citrus zest, white peach, a slightly chalky finish. No wood that covers, but terroir that speaks.
Ideal with crayfish, goat cheese from the Loire or a simple poulet rôti.
