Château Soucherie –
Anjou-Chenin from Chaume and Savennières

Château Soucherie lies in the heart of the Côteaux-du-Layon, one of the most distinctive vineyard sites in Anjou . The former château of the Dukes of Brissac overlooks 28 hectares of vineyards, including 2 hectares in the Savennières appellation and 4 hectares in Chaume – two of the most demanding terroirs in the Loire.

The Béguinot family has managed the estate since 2008, following an extensive restoration of the property and a complete reorientation of the vineyard. The focus is on a single grape variety: Chenin Blanc. It yields both dry wines with pronounced minerality and sweet cuvées that are among the most characterful in the region – recognized by Olivier Poussier, the former world's best sommelier.

The wines of Château Soucherie need time: Chenin Blanc from Chaume develops over years, gaining depth and complexity. The dry versions pair well with Loire goat cheese or grilled perch; the sweeter versions accompany foie gras or mature blue cheese.
