Château Pouget can look back on an almost 400-year history. Founded in 1748 in Cantenac in the Margaux wine-growing region (Bordeaux), it has held the classification as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé since 1855. With an area of only 10 hectares, it is one of the smaller wineries. The grapes are harvested by hand and the wines are stored in barriques for 12 to 18 months. Due to the long barrel storage, filtration can be dispensed with, which increases the richness of flavor.

Château Pouget is located in Cantenac, in the heart of the Margaux appellation, and has been one of the Quatrièmes Grands Crus Classés since the famous Bordeaux classification of 1855. With just 10 hectares, the estate is one of the smaller addresses in the Médoc — which is reflected in the care given to every plot.
The history of the winery dates back to 1748. Over the centuries, Château Pouget has refined its style: grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, and the wines mature for 12 to 18 months in barriques. Filtration is deliberately avoided — the long barrel storage clarifies the wines naturally and preserves their richness of flavor.
In the glass, the wines show the typical elegance of the appellation: fine tannin structure, dark berry fruit, a hint of cedar wood. Classic accompaniment to rack of lamb, duck breast, or aged hard cheese from the southwest of France.
