Château Plince —
Pomerol with depth and family craftsmanship
Château Plince lies in the heart of Pomerol , one of the smallest and most sought-after appellations of the Bordeaux region. The soils here vary considerably within a small area: clay, sand, and gravel characterize the terroir, which gives the dominant Merlot its velvety texture and characteristic plum depth.
The Moreau family has run the winery for generations and cultivates around seven hectares of vineyards—a considerable estate in Pomerol. Winemaking follows classic Bordeaux methods: controlled fermentation, aging in oak barrels, some of which are new to add structure without masking the fruit. The result is wines with rounded tannins, a core of dark cherry and plum, and a long, slightly earthy finish.
Château Plince wines pair well with braised beef, duck breast, or aged Périgord cheeses. For those wishing to discover Pomerol beyond the well-known names, this offers a reliable and characterful introduction to the appellation.
