Château Changyu Moser XV stands for wine from China, specifically for a style of viticulture that sounds different from what you might expect. Our focus is on Cabernet Sauvignon, a grape variety you are otherwise more likely to know from Bordeaux or California.

The wines show how versatile this grape can be: dark berry fruit, a spicy note, and a structure that invites you to pair it with food. They go perfectly with a pot roast or a strong hard cheese.

You can currently find five wines from this estate in our shop. Try them out if you feel like discovering something new and compare the style with what you already know from Cabernet.

About Château Changyu Moser XV

Château Changyu Moser XV –
Ningxia wines at the foot of the Helan Mountains

At the foot of the Helan Mountains near Yinchuan, in the Ningxia region of northwestern China, lies Château Changyu Moser XV. The winery was opened in 2013 and, according to the producer, manages more than 250 hectares of vines. It belongs to Changyu, the wine brand founded by Zhang Bishi in 1892.

Behind the project is a joint venture between Changyu Pioneer and the Austrian winemaker Laurenz Maria Moser V, who has been advising Changyu since 2005. The focus is on combining Chinese terroir with European expertise. All steps take place on the estate: viticulture, pressing, fermentation, aging in the barrique cellar, and bottling.

The Grand Vin showcases the house style. It consists of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 5% Syrah and is aged for 12 months in 60% new oak barrels. In addition, there are the red and white wines of the Helan Mountain line.
