Château Berliquet –
Classic elegance from Saint-Émilion
Château Berliquet is located in the heart of Saint-Émilion, directly on the border with Pomerol – one of the most privileged locations on the entire right bank of the Gironde. The soils here alternate between limestone plateau and clay-rich loams, which gives the wines a characteristic density and at the same time a cool minerality that is rarely found in this combination.
The Château has belonged to the Wertheimer family since 2017, who are also behind Chanel and have realigned the estate with considerable effort. The vineyards were consistently converted to organic cultivation, the cellar technology modernized without giving up the classic style of the house. Above all, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are vinified, which together result in wines with a velvety texture, dark fruit and a long, structured finish.
The cuvées of Château Berliquet are suitable for braised beef, game poultry or aged hard cheese. Anyone who drinks the wines young should decant them – with a few years of cellar aging, they unfold their full complexity.
