Château Berliquet, Saint-Emilion AOP Grand Cru Classé

Château Berliquet, Saint-Émilion AOP Grand Cru Classé is a high-quality red wine from the Saint-Émilion region on the "right bank" of Bordeaux, France. The estate belongs to the Grand Cru Classé classification and is situated on a limestone and clay plateau, in close proximity to renowned wineries such as Château Ausone and Canon.

The wine is based on a blend of predominantly Merlot and a significant proportion of Cabernet Franc (approximately 60–70% Merlot, 30–40% Cabernet Franc, depending on the vintage), resulting in a wine style with juicy fruit, elegance, and fine yet assertive tannins. It undergoes several years of aging, including 16 months in French oak barrels, some of which contain new oak, imparting spice, depth, and excellent aging potential.

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet to purplish-red color. The nose is typical of the Saint-Émilion variety: notes of cherry, black cherry, cassis, raspberry, a hint of licorice, cocoa, vanilla, tobacco, and earthy, mineral aspects imparted by the terroir. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, smooth, and well-structured, with crisp acidity, a fine texture, and a long, complex, and evolving finish.

The alcohol content is approximately 13.5–14.5% vol.; the wine is ideally served at 16–18 °C, slightly decanted. It pairs well with beef and lamb, braised dishes, game, or aged cheeses and, thanks to its robust structure, is suitable for aging for 15–25 years, during which time it gains in finesse and complexity.
