Zinfandel Founders' Estate WO California 0.75L

Robust, fruity and with that typical warmth that makes Californian Zinfandel so distinctive — Beringer's Founders' Estate shows why this grape variety has found its home in California.

Beringer is one of the oldest continuously producing wineries in North America, founded in 1876 in Napa Valley. The Founders' Estate line sources grapes from across the Central Valley and surrounding California growing regions—a style that emphasizes approachability and fruitiness without sacrificing substance. In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red with violet reflections.

On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of blackberry, plum, and dried fruit, followed by licorice, vanilla, and a hint of warm spices. On the palate, it is juicy and concentrated, with rounded tannins and a pleasant length that leads to a smooth finish.

Serve it at 16–18 °C with BBQ ribs, spicy chorizo, or a hearty chili con carne. It also pairs well with dark chocolate. Ready to drink now, but will easily keep for another two to three years.

Beringer

The American winery Beringer is located in the famous Napa Valley in California. Founded in 1875 by the German brothers Friedrich and Jakob Beringer, it initially comprised 87 hectares of vineyards. Today, it is run by Ed Sbragia and Bob Steinhauer, who own 1,200 hectares. The alluvial soils of Napa Valley are ideally suited for growing grapes. Beringer wines are produced from grape varieties such as Zinfadel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Petite Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Chardonnay.
