Warwick Estate Three Cape Ladies

Warwick Estate Three Cape Ladies is a Cape Blend from the South African winery Warwick Estate – a cuvée for those who want to experience classic Bordeaux elegance with the distinctive character of the New World.

At its heart lies Pinotage , the original South African grape variety, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc . These three varieties combine to create a wine that possesses both depth and approachability. The name says it all: it evokes the three Graces of antiquity and alludes to the significant role of women in South Africa's vibrant wine culture.

It is aged for 26 months in French barriques – a maturation period that imparts velvety tannins, subtle oak spice, and a stable structure to the wine without overpowering the fruity aromas. Renowned wine critic John Platter rates it 4 stars – “excellent”.

Especially recommended for:

  • Grilled lamb loin or beef fillet
  • Mature hard cheeses such as Manchego or aged Gouda
  • Hearty braised dishes with red wine reduction

A wine that tells a story – and always makes a good impression at the table.

Warwick Estate

Where the First Lady of Cape Winemaking Made History: Warwick Estate is a winery located in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Warwick was founded around 1771 as a fruit farm. In 1964, Stan and Norma Ratcliff took over the farm and transformed it into a winery, primarily cultivating the typical Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Norma Ratcliff thus became the first female winemaker in the Cape of South Africa and, as such, quite famous. The "First Lady" range from Warwick Estate is a tribute to Norma Ratcliff.
