Pinotage is considered South Africa's own cult grape variety. This Rosé comes from the Warwick Estate winery in Franschhoek, South Africa, and is from the 2026 vintage.
The Winery
Where the First Lady of Cape viticulture wrote history Warwick Estate is a winery based in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Warwick was founded around 1771 as a fruit farm. In 1964, Stan and Norma Ratcliff took over the farm and turned it into a winery, mainly growing the typical Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Norma Ratcliff thus became the first female winemaker at the South African Cape and became famous as such. The "First Lady" range from Warwick Estate is a homage to Norma Ratcliff.
