The Vogelsang is one of the most characterful Rieslings in the Palatinate: dry, precise, with the mineral depth one expects from a true top site.

Weingut A. Christmann in Gimmeldingen is one of the defining addresses in the VDP association of the Palatinate. The Vogelsang site in Neustadt an der Weinstraße is one of the classic steep slopes of the region — south-facing, with the warm Palatinate climate that gives the Riesling here an unusual ripeness and density. Christmann farms his vineyards biodynamically, which is noticeable in the liveliness of the wines.

In the glass, the Vogelsang GG shows the typical tension of a great Palatinate Riesling: ripe yellow fruit — mirabelle, quince — meets a cool herbal line and a salty-mineral finish. The acidity is present but integrated; despite its power, the wine never feels heavy.

Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs with zander on beurre blanc, Vacherin Mont-d'Or, or hearty poultry with cream sauce.
