Vinha Maria Vinho Verde
A light summer wine with natural effervescence — the Vinha Maria Vinho Verde embodies what the region is famous for: cool freshness, lively acidity and an alcohol content that allows for genuine drinking pleasure.
Vinho Verde comes from northwestern Portugal, the Minho region , where an Atlantic climate and granite and schist-rich soils produce wines with pronounced minerality and vibrant acidity. The vines traditionally grow high on pergolas—this keeps the grapes well-ventilated and prevents rot in the humid region.
In the glass, the wine displays a pale yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose offers aromas of lemon zest, lime, and fruit blossom , along with a subtle hint of green apple. On the palate, it is lean and lively, with a crisp, fresh acidity that is not harsh. The fine, natural effervescence—typical of Vinho Verde—makes it pleasantly invigorating, and the finish is short and clean.
With around 11% alcohol by volume, it is a true everyday wine for warm days.
