Vin Santo della Valdichiana DOC half bottle 0.375L

A dessert wine from Tuscany that smells of pastry, apricot, and walnut: the Vin Santo della Valdichiana from Santa Cristina. The half-bottle with 0.375 l is enough for an evening for two or a small group after a meal.

The grapes, Malvasia and Trebbiano, grow in the Valdichiana in Tuscany. As the tradition of Vin Santo requires, they dry for months and are only gently pressed afterwards. This concentrates the sugar and aromas in the berry, and the wine gains its density.

In the glass, it shows an intense yellow with amber reflections. On the nose, raisins, apricot, and candied fruits meet pastry notes. The Malvasia brings its typical fragrance, the Trebbiano Toscano contributes walnut. On the palate, it is full-bodied and soft, reminiscent of apricot compote. The finish is balanced and lingers with notes of amaretti.

Serve it at 12–14 °C. It pairs with cantuccini for dipping, mature pecorino or gorgonzola, or solo as the conclusion of a dinner.
