Villa Poggio Salvi Caspagnolo Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG

Sangiovese from the hills around Siena – the Caspagnolo from Villa Poggio Salvi shows what distinguishes the Colli Senesi from the great Chianti Classico sites: softer contours, more accessibility, but still genuine Tuscan substance.

Villa Poggio Salvi lies in the heart of the Sienese hills, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Tuscany. The DOCG Chianti Colli Senesi requires at least 75% Sangiovese – here the basis for a wine that clearly works out typical grape variety characteristics.

In the glass, luminous ruby red. On the nose, ripe sour cherry, violets, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, medium body, soft tannins without harshness, invigorating acidity, and an entertaining, slightly spicy finish.

Drinking temperature 16–18 °C. Goes well with pasta al ragù, grilled magliatella, Pecorino Toscano, or an uncomplicated bistecca.
