Villa Poggio Salvi Annata Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

A classic Brunello from Montalcino: structured, tannin-rich, with the long breath for which this DOCG is world-famous.

Villa Poggio Salvi is located in the heart of Montalcino, one of Italy's most demanding wine-growing regions. The Annata – the "normal" vintage Brunello as opposed to the Riserva – matures for at least 30 months in Slavonian oak before spending further months in the bottle. Sangiovese Grosso, called Brunello here, shows its characteristic combination of power and finesse in this location.

Deep ruby red in the glass with garnet reflections. On the nose, dried cherry, rose blossom, and a hint of lavender, plus earthy notes of tobacco and leather that gain depth with air. On the palate, medium to full body, firm but ripe tannins, lively acidity – a framework designed for longevity. The finish is long and spicy with a hint of dark berries.
