Villa Gemma Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC Riserva

The Villa Gemma is the flagship of Masciarelli – a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo that shows what this grape variety can achieve when single-vineyard, manual labor, and patience come together.

Masciarelli is one of the defining names of Abruzzo. The winery cultivates in the single vineyard Cave, which gives the Villa Gemma its foundation. Hand-picking, 24 months of aging in French oak barrels – the result is a Riserva with structure and depth.

In the glass, dark ruby red. On the nose, black cherry, dried herbs, a hint of mint, and cedar wood. On the palate, dense, ripe tannins, a lively acidity structure, and a long finish with hints of tobacco and dark chocolate. A wine that benefits from time.
